SC Multi-Purpose Grout Non-Shrink Cement-Based Grout (Pack of 24)
Non-Shrink Multi-Purpose Grout for Structural & Equipment Applications
SC Multi-Purpose Grout is a non-shrink, non-metallic cement-based grout designed for a wide range of grouting applications, from damp-pack installations to highly flowable placements. Engineered with controlled positive expansion, it provides excellent bearing support, high compressive strength, and long-term durability for industrial, commercial, and structural projects. It is chloride-free, gypsum-free, non-corrosive, and suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
Key Features & Benefits
Controlled Positive Expansion
Formulated to provide controlled expansion that helps maximize bearing contact between grout, equipment, and structural elements while minimizing shrinkage.
Non-Shrink Performance
Maintains dimensional stability after placement, helping ensure proper load transfer beneath equipment and structural components.
Non-Metallic & Non-Corrosive
Unlike metallic grouts, SC Multi-Purpose Grout contains no metallic aggregates and will not contribute to corrosion.
Pumpable & Pourable
Can be mixed to plastic, flowable, or fluid consistencies depending on project requirements.
Freeze-Thaw Resistant
Excellent resistance to freeze-thaw cycling makes it suitable for exterior installations and harsh environments.
Easy-to-Use Formula
Simply add water and mix to the desired consistency. No special additives are required.
Common Applications
Equipment Base Grouting
Provides stable support beneath machinery, pumps, compressors, generators, and industrial equipment.
Column Base Plates
Ideal for grouting structural steel columns and base plates requiring full bearing support.
Anchor Bolt Grouting
Used around anchor bolts and embedded hardware to create durable structural connections.
Precast & Tilt-Up Panels
Suitable for grouting precast concrete components and tilt-up wall systems.
Structural Grouting Projects
Commonly used in industrial plants, commercial buildings, infrastructure projects, and manufacturing facilities.
Recommended Uses
SC Multi-Purpose Grout is commonly specified for:
- Equipment foundations
- Pump bases
- Column base plates
- Anchor bolts
- Precast concrete installations
- Tilt-up walls
- Structural steel supports
- Industrial machinery
- Manufacturing facilities
- Infrastructure projects
Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
Before placement:
- Remove dirt, oil, grease, dust, and loose materials.
- Concrete should be structurally sound and roughened to a CSP 3 profile or greater.
- Bring substrate to a Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition.
- Remove standing water prior to placement.
- Ensure bolts, equipment, and base plates are securely fastened.
Mixing
For best results:
- Add water to mixer first.
- Slowly introduce grout powder.
- Mix for a minimum of 5 minutes.
- Use only enough water to achieve the desired consistency.
- Place material within approximately 30 minutes at 70°F.
Placement
- Place continuously from one side whenever possible.
- Avoid trapping air beneath base plates.
- Do not vibrate grout during placement.
- Maintain proper formwork clearances to ensure complete grout flow.
Curing
- Begin wet curing immediately after placement.
- Continue curing until final set.
- Apply an ASTM C309-compliant curing compound after final set.
Deep Pour Applications
For applications exceeding 3 inches in depth:
- Extend grout with clean, pre-washed 3/8-inch pea gravel.
- Up to 50% aggregate by weight may be added.
- Extended mixes improve economy and reduce heat generation in mass placements.
