OverCrete Polymer-Modified Concrete Repair/Resurfacing Mortar

OverCrete Polymer-Modified Concrete Repair/Resurfacing Mortar

Polymer-Modified Concrete Resurfacing & Repair Mortar

OverCrete is a one-component, polymer-modified cementitious repair and resurfacing mortar designed for restoring, smoothing, and resurfacing damaged or worn concrete surfaces. It is engineered for both interior and exterior applications and can be used on horizontal, vertical, and overhead concrete.

Formulated with advanced polymer technology, OverCrete provides improved adhesion, increased durability, and enhanced resistance to moisture and freeze-thaw cycling compared to standard cement-based repair materials. It is commonly used to restore structural and decorative concrete while maintaining a natural gray concrete appearance.

Key Features & Benefits

High Bond Strength

Strong adhesion to properly prepared concrete substrates helps ensure long-term repair performance.

Polymer-Modified Durability

Improved flexibility, tensile strength, and water resistance compared to traditional cement mortars.

Interior & Exterior Use

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor concrete repair applications, including exposure to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Horizontal, Vertical & Overhead Application

Can be used on floors, walls, ceilings, and structural concrete surfaces.

Natural Concrete Finish

Dries to a standard gray finish that blends with existing concrete surfaces.

Two Formulations Available

  • Fine: smoother finish for thin overlays and cosmetic repairs
  • Coarse: heavier build and broom finish applications

Common Applications

Concrete Surface Resurfacing

Used to restore worn, spalled, or damaged concrete surfaces back to a smooth or textured finish.

Structural Concrete Repair

Ideal for repairing deteriorated concrete in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure environments.

Floor Restoration

Common in warehouses, parking areas, sidewalks, and walkways.

Wall & Vertical Repairs

Used for patching and resurfacing vertical concrete surfaces such as retaining walls and structural columns.

Overhead Repairs

Suitable for ceilings, soffits, and overhead structural concrete repairs.

Recommended Use Areas

OverCrete is suitable for:

  • Concrete floors and slabs
  • Parking structures
  • Sidewalks and walkways
  • Bridge and infrastructure repairs
  • Industrial facilities
  • Commercial buildings
  • Precast concrete surfaces
  • Tilt-up panels
  • Interior concrete surfaces
  • Exterior exposed concrete

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

  • Concrete must be sound, clean, and fully cured
  • Remove oil, grease, dust, laitance, coatings, and contaminants
  • Prepare surface to an open profile (CSP 2–3 recommended)
  • Pre-dampen surface to a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition
  • No standing water should be present before application

Mixing

  • Add clean water to mixing container first
  • Slowly add OverCrete powder
  • Mix 2–3 minutes using low-speed drill or hand mixing
  • Do not overmix or retemper after initial set
  • Use within working time window (~25–30 minutes at 70°F)

Placement

  • Apply with trowel, squeegee, broom, or spray equipment
  • Work material into cracks, voids, and surface irregularities
  • Apply in layers for deeper repairs (allow partial set between lifts)
  • Finish to desired texture while material is still workable

Curing

  • Protect from rain, freezing, and excess moisture during curing
  • Final cure typically achieved in 24 hours under normal conditions

Coverage Rates

Coverage depends on thickness and finish method:

  • Fine formulation: ~60–70 sq ft at 1/16" thickness
  • Coarse formulation: ~16–18 sq ft at 1/4" thickness

Actual coverage will vary based on substrate condition and application method.

Performance Characteristics

Compressive Strength

Develops high compressive strength suitable for demanding repair environments (up to ~5000 psi at 28 days per technical data).

Bond Strength

Strong adhesion to properly prepared concrete substrates helps ensure durable repairs.

Freeze-Thaw Resistance

Air-entrained formulation improves durability in freeze-thaw conditions.

Versatility

Works across multiple orientations and surface types including structural and decorative concrete.
