Prep-Separator

Prep-Separator

The VFG-PSB Pre-Separator is a heavy-duty cyclone dust separation system designed to improve dust collection efficiency and extend filter life when used with industrial dust extractors and concrete dust vacuums.

By removing larger particles before they reach the vacuum's filtration system, the pre-separator helps maintain consistent airflow, reduce filter loading, and minimize maintenance requirements.

Ideal for concrete grinding, surface preparation, polishing, scarifying, and coating removal applications, the cyclone separator captures coarse dust and debris before they enter the vacuum system, allowing the primary vacuum filters to focus on collecting fine airborne dust.

Key Features

Cyclone Dust Separation Technology

Dust-laden air enters the cyclone chamber at high velocity where centrifugal force and gravity separate larger particles from the airflow before they reach the vacuum system. Coarse material falls into the collection bag while finer dust continues to the dust extractor.

Benefits include:

  • Reduced filter loading
  • Improved vacuum efficiency
  • Extended filter life
  • Reduced maintenance costs
  • Consistent suction performance

Large 18-Gallon Collection Capacity

The integrated collection tank provides substantial debris storage for demanding jobsites.

Benefits:

  • Less downtime
  • Increased productivity
  • Efficient dust containment
  • Longer operating intervals

Designed for Concrete Dust Applications

Perfect for use with:

  • Concrete grinders
  • Floor grinders
  • Scarifiers
  • Shot blasters
  • Surface preparation equipment
  • Concrete polishing machines

Improves Dust Extractor Performance

Using a pre-separator significantly reduces the amount of heavy debris entering the vacuum system.

Advantages include:

  • Improved airflow consistency
  • Longer filter service intervals
  • Better dust collection performance
  • Lower maintenance requirements
  • Increased vacuum lifespan

How the Cyclone System Works

  1. Dust and debris enter the separator through the inlet hose.
  2. The cyclone chamber slows airflow and creates centrifugal separation.
  3. Heavy particles are forced outward and fall into the collection bag.
  4. Fine particles continue to the dust extractor.
  5. When vacuum operation stops, collected debris drops into the disposal bag for easy removal.

This process dramatically reduces the amount of debris reaching the vacuum filters
